Michael Zampino in CSS, Disqus, Javascript, PERSONAL, Squarespace, Twitter, UPDATES, Widgets

Well the re-design is now live. There are still a couple things I need to tweak, but they are so minimal that I did not want to hold up the re-launch while I worked on them. I hope you like it, please let me know what you think.

If you were familiar with my last version, you will note a total 100% change.

I really liked the old version, due to all the bells and whistles I added to it (i.e. Javascript Slideshows, outside Widgets, neat CSS tricks, and every other cool thing that I tested out and added because it worked).

I thought of the old version as a really cool playground. You know the one when you were a kid that had everything you wanted to play with. A slide, swings, see-saw, etc... Not just the normal ones, but those colossal versions that were monstrous. You know the ones your parents had to drag you away by the collar when it was time to go home.

But since noticing more and more of these playgrounds popping up, and in doing some growing up myself, I decided to go back to simple, but elegant. I have removed my Javascript Slideshow, my outside Widgets, my neat Disqus Comments, oh and the love of my life, my Twitter Feed.

Hence: Pure Squarespace...

Everything within my site is now all the options/elements that are within Squarespace. No outside code!!!

As I noted in my earlier post "Working on a New Design":

I additionally want to remove my sidebars, because I really have nothing in them except garbage. Most if not all of my navigation is in the menu bars that I have at the top, which made the sidebars pointless.

The removal of all the outside stuff made my sidebars look bare, so I was happy to get rid of them, and move to a one column design with no sidebars. I have also moved my Navigation to the bottom. Although, it may look familiar to some of you, I will be changing this in the near future. I wanted to see if I could pull of the large Footer with a Multiple Column style.

Well, that is all for now. I'll keep you posted on any other changes I have made or plan to make.

Oh, and don't forget to let me know what you think in the Pure Squarespace Comment section below. :)

Cheers...
